Construction spending in the United States stalled month-over-month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $2,153 billion in November 2024, following an upwardly revised 0.5% increase in October and missing market forecasts of a 0.3% rise. Private spending edged up by 0.1% in the period, after increasing by 0.6% in October, with the residential segment rising by 0.1% and the non-residential one stagnating. On the other hand, public spending fell by 0.1%, after easing by the same margin in October, as the 1.6% increase in the residential was partly offset by a 0.2% decrease in the non-residential segment. Yearly, construction spending grew by 3% in November.
