Average hourly earnings for all employees on US private nonfarm payrolls rose by 13 cents, or 0.4%, over a month to $35.46 in October 2024, slightly above forecasts of a 0.3% increase and following a revised 0.3% gain in the prior month. In October, average hourly earnings of private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees rose by 12 cents, or 0.4%, to $30.48. Over the past 12 months, average hourly earnings have increased by 4% in October, in line with market estimates and after a downwardly revised 3.9% advance in the prior month.
