Turquie Taux d'inflation

The annual inflation rate in Turkey slowed to 44.38% in December 2024 from 47.09% in the previous month and less than market expectations of 45.2%. This also marked the seventh consecutive month of gradual disinflation and the lowest reading since June 2023, as prices moderated in most of the sub-indices, namely; for food and non-alcoholic beverages (43.58% vs 48.57% in November), housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (69.03% vs 74.45%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (39.28% vs 39.32%), hotels, cafes, and restaurants (57.13% vs 59.38%), communications (34.08% vs 35.71%), recreation and culture (37.57% vs 42.79%) and miscellaneous goods and services (43.3% vs 43.81%). Meanwhile, costs increased at a faster pace for clothing and footwear (32.32% vs 31.45%). On a monthly basis, the consumer prices eased to 1.03% in December 2024 from 2.24% in the previous month, marking the lowest reading since May 2023.
