Slovénie Balance Commerciale

The trade deficit in Slovenia widened sharply to EUR 882.4 million in December 2024 from EUR 11.1 million in corresponding month of the previous year. Imports surged by 39.7% from a year earlier to EUR 5,529.5 million, mainly due to significant increase in purchases from non-EU countries (111.1%). However, purchases from EU countries (-2.4%) declined. Meanwhile, exports rose 17.7% year-on-year to EUR 4,647.1 million, primarily attributed to sharp increase in sales to non-EU countries (40.7%). However, sales to EU countries (-1.1%) decreased. Considering the whole period of 2024, the country recorded a trade gap of EUR 7,633.9 million.
