Poland recorded a trade deficit of €919 million in February 2025, marking a sharp reversal from a €109 million surplus in the same month a year earlier. The deterioration in the trade balance was primarily driven by a 1.4% decline in exports, which fell to €27.24 billion, led by the ongoing weakness in the transportation sector, alongside declines in shipments of supply goods, consumer durables, and capital goods. On the other hand, there was a modest increase in agricultural exports supported by higher food prices on the global market. Meanwhile, imports rose 3.7% to €28.16 billion, driven mainly by stronger demand for consumer goods and agricultural products.
