Paraguay's trade deficit narrowed to USD 402.26 million in September 2024, down from USD 434.27 million in the same month last year. Exports declined by 13.1% year-on-year to USD 835.37 million, primarily due to sharp drops in shipments of primary products (-26.1%), agricultural goods (-4.5%), and energy and fuel (-24.1%). Imports also decreased, falling by 11.3% to USD 1,237.63 million, driven by reduced purchases of intermediate goods (-7.9%) and capital goods (-23.8%), while consumer goods imports increased by 4.4%.
