The annual inflation rate in the Netherlands was confirmed at 3.8% in February 2025, up from 3.3% in the previous month. The acceleration was primarily driven by higher price growth in food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.3% vs. 3.5% in January) and housing and utilities (3.9% vs. 3.6%). Additionally, inflation increased for recreation and culture (3.5% vs. 1.8%), while prices rebounded for clothing and footwear (0.5% vs. -0.7%) and upholstery and household appliances (0.5% vs. -1.2%). Meanwhile, transport inflation remained unchanged at 1.2%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices jumped 1.1%, the highest increase since last July, following a 0.2% decline in January. The harmonized CPI, used for EU-wide comparisons, rose 3.5% year-on-year in February, up from 3% in January.
