Moldova’s trade deficit widened to USD 478.4 million in November 2024, up from USD 358 million in the same month last year, as exports fell while imports rose. Year-on-year, exports dropped by 11.5% to USD 335.5 million, dragged down by lower sales to CIS (-37.6%), EU (-5.8%), and other countries (-19.5%). Meanwhile, imports advanced by 10.4% to USD 813.9 million, driven by higher purchases from EU (18.3%) and other countries (6.4%), while arrivals from CIS countries dropped (-26.5%). From January to November, the trade deficit expanded to USD 4,934.7 million from USD 4,127.9 million in the corresponding period last year.
