Italie Taux d'inflation

The annual inflation rate in Italy quickened to 1.3% in November 2024 from 0.9% in the prior month, though slightly below the initial market expectations of 1.4%. It was the highest reading in four months, largely due to the acceleration in prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.8% vs 2.5%). Prices also increased solidly for other CPI items, including restaurants & hotels (3.4% vs 3.5%); education (2.9% vs 3%); miscellaneous goods & services (2.8% vs 2.6%) and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (2.3%, the same rate as in October). Additionally, prices fell at slower pace for both housing & utilities (-0.6% vs -1.6% in October) and transportation (-0.6% vs -2.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down by 0.1% in November, compared to an initial reading of no change and following a flat reading in the prior month.
