The Bank of Ghana raised its benchmark monetary policy rate by 100 bps to 28% on March 28th, after three consecutive meetings with no changes. The central bank stated that the decision was unanimous, driven by concerns about the inflation outlook. Ghana's annual consumer inflation eased for the second month to 23.1% in February 2025, though staying well above the Bank of Ghana’s 8% target range, with a 6%-10% tolerance band.
