Retail sales in Germany increased 0.8% month-over-month in February 2025, following an upwardly revised 0.7% rise in January and beating forecasts oof a flat reading. It is the biggest increase in five months, with sales rising for both food (0.8%) and non-food (0.6%) while sales at e-commerce and mail order soared 1%. Year-on-year, retail sales went up 4.9%, the biggest gain in three years, following an upwardly revised 3.3% increase in January.
