France Taux d'inflation

The annual inflation rate in France was confirmed at 1.3% in November 2024, the highest in three months, edging up from 1.2% in October. The slight increase was driven by a smaller annual decline in energy prices (-0.7% vs. -2.0% in October), reflecting moderate decreases in petroleum product costs and faster growth in electricity prices. Meanwhile, food price inflation slowed (0.2% vs. 0.6%), manufactured product prices fell further (-0.3% vs. -0.2%), and inflation remained unchanged for services (2.3%) and tobacco (8.7%). Month-on-month, the CPI fell by 0.1%, matching initial estimates and following a 0.3% rise in October. The EU-harmonized CPI rose 1.7% annually, up from 1.6% in October, and declined 0.1% monthly, both aligning with preliminary estimates.
