Fidji Taux d'inflation

The annual inflation rate in Fiji slowed to 1.4% in February 2025, down from January’s four-month high of 4.0%, due to a sharp moderation in food prices (1.4% vs 9.3% in January). Prices also rose more slowly for furnishing, household equipment, and routine maintenance (0.1% vs 0.4%), while the cost of recreation and culture remained flat. Meanwhile, prices accelerated for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.5% vs 7.1%), education (0.5% vs 0.4%), and miscellaneous goods and services (8.6% vs 1.1%). Additionally, prices continued to fall for housing (-0.4% vs -1.0%), and clothing & footwear (-0.8% vs -0.4%), while transport prices dropped the least in five months (-2.1% vs -3.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 1.3% in February, reversing a 2.0% rise in January, which had been the fastest pace since February 2021.
