The Euro Area's consumer price inflation rate eased to 2.3% in February 2025, slightly below the preliminary estimate of 2.4% and down from a six-month high of 2.5% in January. Despite the decline, inflation remains above the European Central Bank's 2% target. Price growth slowed for services (3.7% vs. 3.9% in January) and energy (0.2% vs. 1.9%) but accelerated for unprocessed food (3.0% vs. 1.4%) and non-energy industrial goods (0.6% vs. 0.5%). Meanwhile, core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, fell to 2.6%, its lowest level since January 2022. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.4% in February, rebounding from a 0.3% decline in January.
