Estonia recorded a trade deficit of EUR 303 million in October 2024, equaling the same month of the previous year. Exports advanced 12% year-on-year to EUR 1,655 million, with sales rising for EU countries (10%) and non-EU countries (19%). Among commodities, shipments were particularly up for agricultural products & food preparations (29%), wood and articles of wood (30%), electrical equipment (21%), and others (34%). Meanwhile, imports rose at a softer 10% to EUR 1,959 million, mainly boosted by higher purchases from non-EU countries (43%) and EU countries (5%). Among commodities, imports increased for base metals and articles of base metals (14%), wood and articles of wood (20%), transport equipment (19%) and others (37%). For the first ten months of the year, the country's trade deficit widened to EUR 2,706 million from EUR 2,486 million in the corresponding period a year earlier.
