El Salvador Taux d'inflation

Consumer prices in El Salvador increased by 0.31% year-over-year in January 2025, accelerating from a 0.29% decline in December. This marked the highest rate since September, driven by faster price increases for restaurants and hotels (3.98% vs. 3.86% in December) and healthcare (2.35% vs. 2.30%). Other contributing factors included housing and utilities (1.97% vs. 2.07%) and clothing and footwear (0.14% vs. 0.10%). However, food prices dropped for the fourth time since July 2021 (-0.49% vs. -0.47%), along with declines in transport (-1.65% vs. -1.58%), household equipment (-1.91% vs. -2.18%), and communication (-0.73% vs. -0.39%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.17%, following a 0.17% decline in December.
