The annual inflation rate in Denmark rose to 2% in February 2025, the highest in nine months, from 1.5% in January. Main upward pressure came from higher prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (5.7% vs 4.4% in January) and housing & utilities (2.7% vs 1.9%). Prices also increased for communication (3% vs 0.1%) and health (1.8% vs 1.4%), while rebounded for recreation & culture (1.1% vs -0.2%) and clothing & footwear (0.8%vs -0.8%). On the other hand, price growth slowed for transport (0.3% vs 1%), alcoholic beverages & tobacco (1.2% vs 1.9%), restaurants & hotels (1.1% vs 1.9%), and miscellaneous goods & services (2% vs 2.2%). Meanwhile, the core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, rose to a thirteen-month high of 1.8% in February, from 1.4% in the previous month. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 1%, following a 0.6% rise in January.
