The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic held steady at 2.7% in March 2025, matching February’s five-month low and confirming both preliminary estimates and market expectations. Prices accelerated mainly for food and non-alcoholic beverages, rising to a nineteen-month high of 6.1% from 4.4% in the prior month. Additionally, costs continued to increase for housing and utilities (1.5% vs 1.3%) and recreation and culture (3.1% vs 2.9%). Meanwhile, prices declined for clothing and footwear (-2.2% vs -1.9%) and transport (-1.9% vs 0.7%), while it slowed for furnishings, household equipment and maintenance (1.4% vs 1.7%) and health (3.5% vs 4.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.1% in March, following a 0.2% gain in the preceding period.
