Botswana Taux d'inflation

The annual inflation rate in Botswana accelerated for the second month to 3.9% in August 2024, the highest in seix months, up from 3.7% in the prior month. Upward pressure came mostly from prices of miscellaneous goods & services (8% vs 7.8% in July); transportation (5.8% vs 5.5%); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (5.3% vs 5.1%) and food & non-alcoholic beverages (5.1% vs 4.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.2% in August, after increasing at a similar rate in the previous month.
