Employment in Australia increased by 35.6 thousand to another record peak of 14.54 million in November 2024, easily exceeding market consensus for a 25 thousand gain and significantly accelerating from a downwardly revised 12.2 thousand rise in the previous month. Full-time employment surged by 52.6 thousand, after a downwardly revised 8.9 thousand rise in October. On the other hand, part-time employment declined by 17.0 thousand, a reversal from a downwardly revised 3.2 thousand increase previously. Through the year to November, employment grew by 334.5 thousand or 2.4%.
