Australia's trade surplus on goods increased to AUD 5.95 billion in October 2024, up from a downwardly revised AUD 4.53 billion in September, surpassing market expectations for a gain of AUD 4.55 billion. This was the biggest trade surplus since February, largely driven by a recovery in exports. Shipments rose by 3.6% from the previous month to AUD 42.15 billion, reversing a 4.7% decline in September, largely boosted by other mineral fuels.
